Description

The circle is closed

Martin must seal the barrier between Tamriel and Oblivion. However, there is still a question of tradition: Martin wants to receive the blessing of the Council of Elders to become the new emperor. You must escort him to the Imperial City Palace to complete the ceremony. Upon arrival, Supreme Chancellor Ocato greets Martin and is about to formally receive him as emperor. At this moment, an exhausted and frightened messenger comes running and reports that the Oblivion Gate has opened inside the Imperial City!

The Imperial City has been attacked!

Oblivion

The Daedra and the Mythic Dawn have begun their final attempt to defeat the Empire. They storm the Imperial City and open many Oblivion Gates. As soon as the messenger stops speaking, the Daedra break into the council room and attack everyone inside. With the help of the Palace Guard, Blades and Okato, they can be defeated quickly, although this is only the beginning of an epic battle. If Baurus and Joffrey have survived previous battles, they will also help you in this darkest hour. If Baurus is dead, Captain Steffan will take his place.

Be careful, as at this stage Martin may die. If this happens, then the game is over.

It is advisable to always stay close to Martin, helping him to kill all attacking enemies. If possible, use healing spells on him to keep him healthy.

At the end of the battle, Mehrunes Dagon himself will appear.

last fight

The plan failed. The barriers between Tamriel and Oblivion are already completely dissolved - Dragonfire will not do anything now.

Once you get the quest update, run back through the gate and find Martin. In desperation, he quickly tries to think of a solution. Mehrunes Dagon, as he explains, is immortal and can only be killed by another immortal. No matter how many soldiers rush at him, Dagon will never fall. However, from this and your suggestion to use the Amulet of Kings, he creates a new plan. But Martin needs to get inside the Temple first.

There are many ways to get through Dagon. For example, by increasing your speed. You can also use the invisibility spell or the Chameleon to easily slip past him.

Whichever option you choose, run inside the temple with Martin. The Amulet of Kings is filled with the blood of the Dragon God Akatosh, and Martin can use his blood, amulet and the power of the Temple of Akatosh to summon the power of the Dragon itself. He says goodbye to you and rushes to the altar as Dagon makes his way through the roof. Suddenly, rays of light flash from Martin and he turns into a giant, flaming dragon.

Avatar of Akatosh

Two immortals, Dagon and Martin in the form of Avatar Akatosh, fight for the fate of Nirn. In the end, Martin wounds the Daedric Prince of Destruction and finishes him off with a breath of sacred fire. Dagon's physical form is banished and the Oblivion Gate is closed. Martin, however, pays a high price for borrowing Akatosh's power: he turns into stone at the top of the temple altar - an eternal memorial to him and his bravery.

Notes

After this quest, you can receive the Akatosh's Favor from the Avatar statue. This blessing improves Charisma and Luck for 30 in-game days.

There are actually two statues of the Avatar Akatosh in the game world. In addition to the one in the Temple of the One, the Temple District has its own version. To get to it, find the window in which the statue's tail sticks out, then jump onto the windowsill. Look directly at the tail, jump and activate the statue at the top of the jump. The two statues are considered different entities, so their blessings stack and you can receive both on the same day.

If you have the Shivering Isles' Staff of Sheogorath, you can use it to immobilize Mehrunes Dagon, allowing you to walk past him.

Make sure to collect all the valuable loot. Anything left will disappear as soon as you talk to Chancellor Ocato.

Bugs

You can kill Mehrunes Dagon yourself. If you cast a huge amount of spells on him, then Dagon will dissolve and turn into a pile of reddish slime. However, he will still attack as if he were alive.

- One option is to use Damage Stamina or Absorb Stamina with spells, or a weapon enchanted with them. As soon as Dagon's strength is depleted (he doesn't have much), he will fall.
- Another alternative is to use Wabbajack on Dagon if you have one. This will not affect his appearance, but it will change the stats, so it will be much easier to kill him.

Do not close the door to the Imperial City Palace when traveling to Ocato. If you do, the Imperial Legion Messenger will be unable to reach Ocato, leaving you motionless.
- [PC] This bug was fixed by the "Unofficial Oblivion Patch".

Make sure Martin travels to the Temple District before you. Otherwise, he will stay in the Palace District and the guards will close the gates, so neither you nor Martin can get through. This can be fixed by going to the Temple of the One and waiting 24 hours.

After you ask Martin to wait for you when he tells you about his plan. Then it may appear that he has disappeared. In fact, you can find him (and Joffrey) standing and waiting outside the Temple stable.

Mehrun Dagon must be banished back to Oblivion.

Short walkthrough

  • Talk to Martin and travel to the Imperial City.
  • Witness the proclamation of the new Emperor.
  • Find your way to the Temple of One.
  • Witness the final battle between Mehrun Dagon and the dragon Akatosh.

Detailed walkthrough

So Martin is already dressed in the Imperial outfit and the Amulet of Kings flaunts on his chest, but in order to become the real Emperor, you need to ask the Council of Elders about Martin's rights to the throne. Travel to the Imperial City and speak with Chancellor Ocato. Okato will agree to recognize Martin as the new Emperor, but the solemn speech will be cut short by the sudden announcement of an enemy invasion of the city.

Oblivion gates opened throughout the city and the Daedra poured out from there. It is necessary to deliver Martin to the Temple of the One so that he can light the Dragonfire, close the gates of Oblivion and save the city.

Make your way through the crowds of Daedra, soon you will receive a message that Mehrun Dagon has arrived in the earthly world and that the barrier between the two worlds has been destroyed. Mortal weapons can do some harm to Mehrun, but they cannot destroy him.

Take the One to the Temple, reflecting enemy attacks on the Emperor. When you reach your goal, Martin will inform you that his time is running out, break the amulet of kings and turn into the embodiment of Akatosh, the dragon - the god of time. In a few seconds, a small battle will begin during which Mehrun Dagon will be driven back to Oblivion.

  1. Talk to Okato.
  2. Wait two weeks.
  3. Go to Arsenal (Prison District).
  4. Take your reward - the Imperial Dragon Armor.
Description

Champion of Cyrodiil

After the cutscene of defeating Mehrunes Dagon, Okato appears. Although worried about the fate of the Empire, he is grateful and calls you Champion of Cyrodiil, a title only six other heroes in the history of the Empire have received. Okato orders a set of Imperial Dragon Armor for you, which is usually only worn by the Emperor, and says that the armor will be ready in two weeks.

New armor ready

Take the armor

After two weeks, your journal will automatically update the information that the armor is ready. If you make this task your active quest, you will receive a marker in the Prison District Arsenal. Your new armor is on the table opposite the door.

There are two different versions of armor: one set of light armor and one set of heavy armor. You cannot choose which set you get; the game decides for you based on your skill in light armor and heavy armor. You will receive a set that matches your stronger skill; if both skills are equal, then you will receive a set of heavy armor.

Obtaining any piece of your new armor completes the quest and also ends the game's storyline. Congratulations!

Notes

The Imperial Dragon Armor looks the same as the one Martin wore at the Battle of Broome (unless you caused an error in the quest).

The Heavy Armor and Light Armor sets look the same.

Bugs

There is no female version of the armor, which means both genders look the same while wearing.

There is a chance that the quest will not be updated in 2 weeks.

Blood red skies over the heart of the empire. Either they were like this because of the fires, or because of the spilled blood. The gates of Oblivion opened throughout the capital, through which the servants of Lord Dagon poured in a broad stream. The first wave carved out a quarter of the city until the residents realized what was what and tried to fight back. The second wave swept away the flimsy resistance like a wave washes away a sand castle. All who could fight stood up on the barricades, others looked after the wounded. The few remaining mages with their last strength poured fire on the attackers. Sadly, one of the jewels of the Imperial City, the main branch of the Mages Guild, fell first. The blow was unexpected and massive. The gates opened in broad daylight when the sun stood in the afternoon and the magicians basked in its rays. The magicians did not even have time to blink an eye as they halved. In this boiling scarlet cauldron, the young archmage, the successor of the late Hannibal Travius, also died. He covered the escape of the survivors from the top of the tower, his shield depleted and burst, unable to withstand the spell of the Daedra spider, the archmage lost his balance and fell down. Maybe he survived, maybe not, no one saw his crashed body, after all, he won in a magic duel the resurrected King of Hearts himself! But suddenly the scarlet and black shroud was cut by two huge yellow wings carrying fire. A deafening roar burst into the noise of the battle, comparable to a thousand horns, amplified and echoed many times over. A real dragon circled the city, which had not been seen for a very long time. The people were numb with fear and they were demolished by the servants of Dagon, taking advantage of the hitch. And then, echoing the roar of a winged lizard in the sky, horns sang and drums rumbled, it seemed that Zenitar himself was knocking his hammer on the heavenly anvil. This formidable chorus gave the defenders strength, merging with the rhythm of their hearts. They rushed through the barricades with a whoop and whoop. The imperial army rushed into the city, sweeping away all enemies like a fired arrow, and the last offspring of the Septims shone on its edge. The Dragon Above paid no attention to it. He was looking for someone else with his terrifying gaze. Near the temple of the One, a huge six-armed figure was crushing everything. Noticing it, the dragon generated such a roar with its throat, which drowned out all sounds and its distant notes were clearly audible in Bravil. He fell like a stone, aiming sharp golden claws at the Prince of Destruction. And a fierce and merciless battle ensued between them. The dragon grabbed Dagon's hand with its terrifying claws and jerked upward, trying to knock it over. But Lord Dagon recoiled and struck the winged raptor. The ax slid off the dragon's scales without causing any harm. Daeric steel is good, but it does not compare to the armor of the first children of Akatosh. On the second call, the dragon tried to ram the Lord of Destruction. He hit him with his head and dragged him, demolishing the remains of buildings. Prince Dagon took the mighty dragon's neck in his grip. The lizard, humiliated by such a dastardly reception, twitched, trying to free himself. And this made my neck even more squeezed. The lizard roared. The Prince of Destruction raised a large golden scale right between the wings and was preparing to thrust his ax into it, but at that very moment, the flame spewed out by the prisoner burned him, even for him this fire was dangerous. The grip loosened and the dragon slipped out. The lizard has put all the power and fury of the defiled world into the new stream without a trace. Prince Dagon's heart-rending cry of pain instilled weakness in his servants, and for the first time they wavered. Sharp dragon teeth gripped the Lord of Destruction's neck and shook his head. Then the earth shook and Dagon disappeared in smoke and fire, and with him all his servants scattered across Nirn and all the Gates slammed shut. The battle for peace ended in complete mortal victory. The golden dragon fell exhausted on the ruins of the temple of the One. He rolled his eyes, poorly understanding what was happening around. The lizard's breathing is intermittent, the heartbeat is weak, the sounds are booming and as if from another world. The lizard saw a man in shining white armor. The familiar scent tickled his nostrils pleasantly. A hand clad in white steel lay on the nose. Although the body was numb, the memory helpfully provided all the sensations it should have. The man smiled woefully. Alive, no scratch, good. Still, the sacred agreement has been concluded and it's time to pay the bills. A tear rolled down from the dragon's petrified eye and turned into a drop of perfectly transparent rock crystal. All power has a price and the Champion of Cyrodiil paid for it with her soul.
